T’is the season for ATV thefts.
Crime Stoppers spokesman says a number of vehicles have gone missing over the last few weeks, including one on David Street in Wallaceburg over the weekend.
“It’s just simply a matter of them being out there. Everybody is putting away the snowmobile and pull out the summer stuff.” says They’re just being careless in some instances, it’s the old habit of, ‘I’ll leave it out there for a couple hours and it’ll be fine.’ It’s just a target of opportunity right now.”
Bakker says owners should make sure their ATV is kept locked up, and don’t leave keys or valuables anywhere near the machine.
