Wallaceburg’s south-side downtown along the Sydenham River could see significant development in the near future.
Next Monday night, C-K council will discuss a motion for development on Wallaceburg’s south side. The area in question is along the Sydenham River on Wallace Street between Murray Street and the walking bridge, which includes land owned by the municipality.
The area has had a number of buildings demolished in the past year to prepare for potential development. Additionally, the municipality bought property near the walking bridge to help make development more convenient.
A secondary plan will help map out the development and investment in the downtown core.
If council approves the motion, a report will come back for the October 19 meeting.
