St Andrew’s Residence Unionized Workers Ink New Contract

A new contract is in place for over two dozen local retirement home workers.

Employees at St Andrews Residence have ratified a new three-year collective agreement.

According to officials with the Southwestern Ontario Health Care and Service Workers Union, CLAC Local 303, the deal provides improved shift and weekend premiums, bereavement benefits, and wage increases of 10% over the course of the term to the 37 staff members represented by the union.

“We are pleased with the enhancements we were able to secure during this round of bargaining,” says Ryan Griffioen, CLAC representative. “I’d like to extend a special thanks to our bargaining committee for their hard work during these negotiations.”
