Area English Catholic schools are doing what they can to support the Legion as we get closer to Remembrance Day.

Because of COVID-related safety precautions, donation boxes aren’t allowed into school facilities.

The St Clair Catholic District School Board is now using the School Cash Online website, typically used by parents to pay for field trips and other student-related activities, to accept donations for the poppy campaign.

“In an effort to continue to support the work of our friends at the Legion branches across the district, we will be accepting donations this year through School Cash Online,” says Deb Crawford, Director of Education.  “School Cash Online is a simple and convenient way to make a donation and it does not require our staff to handle cash.”

Schools will hand out poppies in a manner than minimizes handling and avoids close contact between individuals, as advised by Public Health Ontario.

The donated funds will be held at the schools and each school will write a cheque to their local Legion branch after November 11.
