St Clair Catholic Board Elects Chair, Vice Chair

(L-R) David Argenti, Vice Chair of the Board; Scott Johnson, Director of Education; John Van Heck, Chair of the Board; and Jann Tooshkenig, newly acclaimed Trustee.

The St Clair Catholic District School Board held its inaugural meeting of the new term Tuesday night.

John Van Heck returns as Chair of the St. Clair Catholic District School Board for 2023, a position he has held since 2016.  David Argenti is taking over the position of Vice Chair of the Board.  He was first elected to the Board of Trustees in 2018.

“My heart lies in Catholic education,” says Mr. Van Heck.  “My work with our Board is dedicated to helping to uphold the tremendous integrity, respect and honour with which our senior administration and staff support our students and families across the system.”

“As an active member of my community and my Catholic community, I have many opportunities to showcase the great work of our Board,” says David Argenti.  “I look forward to supporting our Board and our Chair in this new term.”

Tuesday’s meeting was the first for Jann Tooshkenig. She replaces Carol Bryden, who stepped down after 16 years representing East Kent and St. Clair and Dawn-Euphemia Townships.

Elections for the positions of Chair and Vice Chair are held annually.  The term of office for both positions expires in December 2023.
