Chatham-Kent-Leamington MPP Rick Nicholl’s was in Chatham Friday with greetings and cash from Queens Park.

He stood outside St. Clair College and announced the province is spending 164 million dollars to help with the deferred maintenance backlog at post secondary institutions across the province.

The Facilities Renewal Program is contributing an additional 144 million to help keep up current projects.

That includes about 2.5 million for St. Clair College.

“Investing in education only benefits everyone in the long run and with the increased number of high-school students pursuing post-secondary education, the $2.49 million will be extremely helpful towards needed maintenance and campus upgrades at St. Clair College.”

He says they realize a lot of the money will be spent to update their virtual learning programs as that will continue until further notice.
