With drier weather in the forecast, conservation officials continue to keep a close watch on local waterways.
Following significant rainfall last week, a number of local rivers and streams have over flowed their banks with minor flooding in the Wallaceburg area. A number of roads in the area were closed over the weekend, including sections of Nelson Street and Otter Line.
A flood watch issued by the St Clair Region Conservation Authority remains in place with localized flooding in low-lying areas, including agricultural floodplain and parkland areas.
Residents are reminded to avoid watercourses and flooded areas, and keep children and pets away from the water.
