Local officials are warning of the risk of more minor ice jams and potential flooding along the Sydenham and St Clair Rivers.

The St Clair Region Conservation Authority say water levels have risen with warm weather and rain over the weekend, and more mild temperatures expected in the days ahead.

Ice on lakes and rivers continues to disintegrate and minor jams are possible as the ice moves through the watershed. Sections of the rivers are open, although there is still a fair amount of ice in the lower reaches, including where the St. Clair River empties into Lake St. Clair.

Canadian and U.S. Coast Guard ships are their ice flushing operations.
