The Congregation at St. Paul’s United Church is considering a change to become an ‘Affirming Congregation’.
Chuck Scott Chair of the Affirming Committee says instead of just being tolerant of marginalized groups, they want to support those groups.
“We want to explicitly and openly support and welcome folks who are LGBTQ . It encourages us to be more thoughtful of those folks who are marginalized in any way, gender identity, sexual orientation, physical, mental abilities, cultural or religious background, economic disadvantaged. It’s a conversation that goes on for some time,” says Scott.”
