Construction on a new English Catholic school in Chatham is in its final stages.

The St Clair Catholic District School Board says the new St. Teresa of Calcutta Catholic School should be complete by the end of March.

The eight-acre site features collaborative learning spaces, a two-storey learning commons, community room, and double-sized gym.

The 564-pupil place school will also include a daycare with 49 childcare spaces.  The move-in of furniture, equipment and technology will take place during spring and through the summer.

The school is set to open in September, welcoming students and staff from the current Georges P. Vanier and St. Ursula Catholic schools, which also includes students from the former St. Joseph Catholic School in Chatham.
