Stacy Mitchhart, “the Blues Doctor” returns to Chatham on Saturday, November 5, 2011 with his “Horn Driven” blues band. As Bib Cianci of the Music Scene recently said, “… Mitchhart may be one of the blackest sounding Caucasians this writer has ever heard. “ Stacy is a showman dressed to the nines, with a teasing smile, quick wit and taste for blue humor.
Stacy is widely recognized as the best show in Nashville. He is an Albert King Award Winning Guitarist, a Grammy Nominee, and has appeared on HBO and the Documentary Channels. The SMB Band has played at BB King’s, The Bourbon Street Blues & Boogie Bar in Nashville, and tours nationally and internationally. In all, the SMB has released 12 CDs and a documentary “Nashvegas Blues”. The most recent CD is “Live AT BB King’s”.
The Stacy Mitchhart Band members are Cory Distefano on trumpet, Jules Caldarera on sax, Paul Brown on keyboards, Michael Dearingon on bass guitar, and Darin James on drums.
Opening for the Stacy Mitchhart Band is the Tom Lockwood Band. Music aficionados in Chatham-Kent already know and love the smooth riffs of The Tom Lockwood Band. In February of this year, the Tom Lockwood Band represented the Great Lakes Blues Society London at the International Blues Competition in Memphis.
Tom is a blues, jazz, roots, and classical musician and composer who has released 6 CDs. Tom regularly hosts and performs in the Saturday Night Music Club in Studio One, and the annual CK Guitar Summit at the Kiwanis Theatre. In March of this year, Tom released a new Blues CD, “Common Ground” with powerhouse jazz vocalist and songwriter Jaimee Paul from Nashville. It received rave reviews.
The Tom Lockwood Band members are Tom Lockwood on guitar, Dan Taylor on vocals, Mark Wolfe on drums, Mark Tremblay on keyboards, and Brent Hunter on bass guitar.
