A former councillor is looking to return to the fray.
Art Stirling, who was edged out in the 2014 election, has filed nomination papers to run in Ward 2, South Kent.
Stirling has spent the past few years co-chairing the fundraising campaign for a new animal shelter, which broke ground just last week.
There are now four candidates on the ballot in South Kent – incumbents Frank Vercouteren and Trevor Thompson, along with political newcomer Henry Svec, with three seats up for grabs.
The deadline for nominations is July 27th, three weeks from today.
