Police are asking for the public’s help after someone cashed a winning lottery ticket that had been stolen in Tilbury.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said a man entered the Circle K on Queen Street North on August 28 at around 6:45 a.m. and demanded money and lottery tickets from the employee. When the employee refused, the man took two trays of lottery tickets from the counter and left the store.
The suspect is described as a white male, 5’10” tall, with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a black “Under Armour” hoodie and a face covering at the time of the theft.
Following an investigation in collaboration with the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation, police learned that one of the tickets that was stolen was cashed in at a different location. Investigators are looking to speak with the person who cashed the ticket and have released photos of the individual, which can be viewed above.
