Stolen Plates Lead To Arrest Of Toronto Man

A Toronto man is facing charges after a vehicle with stolen licence plates was stopped in Chatham-Kent.

The Ontario Provincial Police said officers stopped the vehicle on Highway 401 shortly after 11 o’clock Wednesday night after being alerted by the Automated Licence Plate Recognition system.

Following an investigation, the 31-year-old driver was charged with possession of stolen property under $5,000, driving without a licence, and using an unauthorized licence plate.

The accused will answer the charges in court next month.
