Wallaceburg high school students are marking Remembrance Day with a special assembly tomorrow.
Teacher Drew Sydorko says some of the younger students will have a key role in the ceremony.
“This year we’re having the Grade 7 and 8 students from upstairs participate which is a first. We wanted to include them a bit more in the bigger secondary events that go on at the school this year,” says Sydorko. “They’ll be doing a poem for Remembrance Day and some art work as well. In some different areas of the school and have put it all together.”
The assembly will focus on the 75th anniversary of the Dieppe Raid, which included a number of Wallaceburg soldiers from the Essex and Kent Scottish Regiment.
