A number of local high school students are expected to join tens of thousands of others in a province-wide walk-out this afternoon.
The students are protesting cuts to education by the Ford Government, including increasing class sizes, a reported loss of 18,000 teaching jobs across Ontario, and changes to the health and phys-ed curriculum, among other things.
Students from Chatham-Kent Secondary School, John McGregor Secondary School, and UCC have registered online, showing their intent to take part, with students in Wallaceburg also expected to join in.
The walk-out is expected to begin at 1:15 this afternoon.
