An annual water-themed festival is returning to the region to educate local students with a variety of outdoor, hands-on activities.
The Chatham-Kent Lambton Children’s Water Festival will take place October 6 through October 8 at C.M. Wilson Conservation Area.
Each day of the event, around 650-700 elementary students will take part in several activities that cover five water themes: Water Science, Water Technology, Water Conservation, Water Protection and Water Attitude. An additional 300 high school students, 400 teacher and parent volunteers, and 150 adult volunteers will also help support the program.
Since 2007, over 24,000 elementary and 3,700 high school students have experienced the festival. Over this time, more than 2,500 teachers and parents have helped deliver the event.
