Stunt Driving Charges Laid On Hwy. 401

A pair of led foot drivers will be without their vehicles for the next two weeks after being pulled over by police in Chatham-Kent over the Thanksgiving long weekend.

The Ontario Provincial Police said officers stopped the first driver on Highway 401 near Communication Road, at around 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Authorities said the vehicle was travelling at more than 55 Km/h over the posted limit.

On the same day just before 8:30 p.m, a second vehicle was clocked travelling at 65 km/h over the speed limit on the highway west of Bloomfield Road.

As a result, a 31-year-old from Scarborough and a 25-year-old from Windsor are both charged with stunt driving.

The pair were also issued a 30-day licence suspension and their vehicles will be impounded for 14 days.
