It’s Sandwich Day, and Subways across Canada are donating the proceeds from today’s sandwich and drink sales.
Chatham-Kent’s Outreach for Hunger, which is part of Food Banks Canada, will be benefitting from this fundraiser.
Brenda LeClair from Outreach for Hunger explains Sandwich Day:
“If you purchase a sandwich and a drink, a portion of those proceeds will be donated to Food Banks Canada, which will help with securing food donations from larger corporate donors. The proceeds will be sent out across Canada to all of the food banks.”
LeClair says as we come into the colder months, and with the rising cost of utilities, the need is increasing. Sandwich Day will donate funding for more than 300,000 meals across Canada today.
