Successful and Productive Year for Chatham-Kent Crime Stoppers

145 charges have been laid across Chatham-Kent over the past year as a result of information relayed to the local Crime Stoppers.

Officials with the organization say they received 586 tips in 2021, which lead to 55 arrests and 109 cases cleared.

Spokesman Dave Bakker says the past year has been very successful and productive for the organization.

“Through the combined efforts of tipsters, the media, police agencies and the hard work of our Board members many incidents were successfully investigated and solved,” he states in the organization’s annual report.

In 2021, $72,700 worth of property was recovered and $255,800 worth of drugs seized.

Since the organization’s inception in 1987, tips to Chatham-Kent Crime Stoppers have resulted in16,359 6,charges laid and 11,230 cases cleared.
