A new event coming to Chatham-Kent this week is expected to bring together 80 businesses and multiple dynamic speakers for a massive networking summit.

The Chatham-Kent Business Summit will take place on Thursday and Friday at the John D Bradley Convention Centre. Hosted by Chatham-Kent Economic Development, the summit is designed to unite the dream of starting a business, running a business, and ultimately succeeding in business.

“Whether you’re business 101, a business alum or anywhere in between, this is the place to come,” said Doug Robbins, an economic development officer with the municipality. “It magnifies small business, large business and entrepreneurship.”

CK Mayor Darrin Canniff said the event will assist businesses by enabling them to network with other business-minded individuals.

“A healthy business community is a healthy community,” he said. “We want to get it bigger and grow it each and every year but it’s ultimately to help each and every business in Chatham-Kent succeed.”

The event will feature several keynote speakers including decorated Canadian Paralympic swimmer Danielle Campo McLeod and American-Canadian sports executive and former running back Michael “Pinball” Clemons.
