The sunflowers are blooming near Thamesville as a local family once again raises money for those living with dementia.
This is the fifth year for the Puddleford Tree Farm sunflower fundraiser for the Alzheimer Society of Chatham-Kent.
It’s a cause close to the heart of co-owner Gail Whitney, whose father Gerald suffered from Alzheimer’s.
Whitney says the flowers are expected to continue blooming for the next two weeks.
The Puddleford Tree Farm boasts over 20,000 sunflowers this summer, with dozens of rows to wander through, take pictures, and cut your own flowers.
The cost is $5 per vehicle and $1 per sunflower stem with 100% of the proceeds donated to the Alzheimer Society’s day program, which operates in Wallaceburg and Chatham.
The Puddleford Tree Farm is located at 22896 Scane Road near Thamesville, and is open 10am-8pm daily.
