
A local woman is facing charges following a shoplifting incident in Chatham.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers were called to a business on Wellington Street West at around noon on January 19, after a woman concealed merchandise and left the store without paying.
After reviewing surveillance footage, officers identified a suspect and a warrant was issued for her arrest.
A 30-year-old Chatham woman was arrested this past Monday on Linden Street at around 9 p.m. She is now charged with theft under $5,000 and possession of stolen property under $5,000.
The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing.
