
An arrest has been made following a break-and-enter in Chatham.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers responded to an alarm at a business on Grand Avenue West shortly before 10:30 p.m. on Sunday. Police arrived at the scene and found that the rear door had been damaged and property had been stolen, however, the thief had already fled the scene.
Authorities were able to identify a suspect by reviewing security surveillance footage, who was arrested later that day.
A 29-year-old Chatham-Kent man is now charged with break-and-enter to commit mischief and theft under $5,000. The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing.
