Impaired driving charges have been laid following an incident overnight.
Police spotted a speeding vehicle just before 1:30 this morning and pulled over the driver on Alexandra Avenue in Chatham.
Suspecting the driver might be under the influence, officers brought the man to police headquarters for tests.
An 18-year-old Blenheim man has now been charged with having with a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit.
He’ll have to face the charge in court next month.
