Chatham-Kent Police are thanking an eagle eyed passerby for reporting a suspected drunk driver.
The witness told police there had been a minor collision near the intersection of Grand Avenue West and Sandys Street – officers found the suspect vehicle stopped at a red light at Lacroix and King Street West with the driver slumped over the wheel.
The officer managed to reach through an open window to put the vehicle into park. The driver was taken to police headquarters for tests, where he blew over the legal limit.
The 43-year-old has been charged with impaired driving and released with a date in court on January 19th.
