An arrest has been made in connection to an early morning break-in.

Chatham-Kent Police responded to a Wellington Street business shortly before 1:30 this morning after a man was seen forcing his way into the property.

The accused was found inside, allegedly holding merchandise in his hands.

Authorities say the glass on the front door had been smashed and the man had visible injuries consistent with the damage. Further investigation showed the man was already bound by a probation order to stay away from the business.

The 29-year-old has been charged with break and enter, and failing to comply with a probation order.

He was held in custody for a bail hearing.
