A Chatham man is facing several charges after a brief police pursuit.
Shortly before 4 o’clock Tuesday afternoon, an officer on patrol spotted a vehicle on Lacroix Street in Chatham, recognized the driver from previous encounters and knew he didn’t have a valid driver’s license.
The driver allegedly ignored attempts by police to pull him over, and eventually stopped in a driveway on Grey Street.
As officers were arresting the accused, they found suspected fentanyl and methamphetamine.
The 37-year-old is charged with flight from police, driving while suspended, and possession of a controlled substance. He’ll have to face the charges in court at a later date.
