A Chatham man is facing charges after allegedly lying to police when was pulled over for having a suspended licence.
The Ontario Provincial Police said officers pulled over a vehicle on Highway 401 in Chatham-Kent at around 11 p.m. on Monday, after their Automated Licence Plate Recognition system found that the owner of the vehicle had been suspended from driving.
The driver allegedly provided a false name to officers and was arrested.
A 53-year-old Chatham man is now charged with two counts of driving while under suspension and obstructing a peace officer. He will answer the charges in court next month.
