Conservationists are keeping a close eye on area waterways this week.
With melting snow and heavy rains throughout the region yesterday, officials with the St Clair Region Conservation Authority says water levels are on the rise.
The agency says some minor flooding is expected, and traditional floodplain areas may become inundated with water over the next few days.
Residents are reminded to avoid watercourses and flooded areas due to slippery banks, cold and swift moving water and deteriorating ice.
