It’s going to be another bitterly cold night in Chatham-Kent.
Environment Canada has issued a cold warning for the area with wind chill values expected to drop to -30 Celsius into tomorrow morning.
Municipal officials are urging residents to do what they can to keep warm, as cold conditions create an elevated health risk, including the possibility of frostbite and hypothermia.
Individuals lacking shelter, water, or food are particularly vulnerable to the impacts of extreme cold. Anyone experiencing homelessness should call the Homeless Response Line at 519-354-6628 (24/7) for support.
Remember not to leave pets outside for long, as they are also at risk from overexposure to extreme cold temperatures.
