Chatham-Kent is encouraging everyone to become a ‘detourist.’ 
With the Communication Road overpass under construction, many travellers find themselves using back roads to get onto the 401.
Shannon Paiva, Supervisor of Tourism Development, says there’s lots to explore in Chatham-Kent.
“What we did in Tourism is actually come up with different itineraries and trip planners that people can take if they have to take those side-roads anyway,” Paiva explains. “Or it’s an opportunity to experience something brand new as you visit throughout Chatham-Kent.”
