A new committee is being created to help address local transit concerns.

Councillor Karen Kirkwood-Whyte says the idea came after a recent survey of transit users earlier this fall.

The survey found that only 9% of respondents are satisfied with the current service, and 90% want extended hours.

The committee will be comprised for 11 members – 4 of which are from the general public and 2 who are regular riders of the current system.

The committee would be responsible for developing a public transit strategy and action plan to address current shortcomings.
