As the cost of basic necessities continues to increase, the United Way is gathering donations to ensure women in Chatham-Kent have access to essential hygiene products.

The United Way of Chatham-Kent will launch Tampon Tuesday on October 18 at the Chatham-Kent Nonprofit Centre located at 425 McNaughton Ave. W.

Residents are encouraged to donate pads, tampons, and cups, as well as other hygiene items such as shampoo and soap. Gift cards and financial donations can also be dropped off. Drop-offs will be accepted through a drive-through between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Pink donation bins will also be located throughout the municipality.

More than 2,500 items were donated during last year’s Tampon Tuesday, which were distributed to 21 community programs and agencies in Chatham-Kent.
