A local man is facing charges after allegedly trying to attack a police officer.
Authorities were called to a family dispute in Wallaceburg Tuesday morning. Police say a man, who was wanted on several outstanding warrants, threw a chair at a family member.
Police say the accused became belligerent and combative as he was being arrested, and allegedly kicked two officers.
A taser was used and the man was taken into custody.
The 21-year-old has now been charged with assault with a weapon, resisting arrest, and two counts of assaulting police.
