After one day back at the bargaining table, today’s round of talks between Ontario public high school teachers and the province have been cancelled.
Both sides are accusing the other of failing to bring any new proposals to the table during yesterday’s round of talks.
Education Minister Stephen Lecce says the OSSTF continues to focus on increasing their compensation package, while union president Harvey Bischof says the issue of compensation wasn’t even discussed.
Teachers, including those in the Lambton-Kent District school Board remains poised for a one-day strike tomorrow, which will close all local public high schools.
Elementary and Catholic schools are not affected by the job action.
All high school sports will be cancelled for the day.
