It’s the start of a long weekend for almost every student in Chatham-Kent.
The Lambton-Kent, St Clair Catholic, and French boards are all being hit by a one-day strike today as the four major teachers’ unions band together in a show of solidarity as contract disputes with the province drag on.
Talks have been taking place this week between the government and both the French and English Catholic Unions, but at this point, no real progress has been made.
English catholic teachers are also planning rotating strikes next week, affecting the St Clair Catholic board on Monday.
