A Chatham teen is in hot water after allegedly taking his grandfather’s car for a joyride.

Chatham-Kent Police were called around 2 o’clock this morning and say the 15-year-old had taken the car without permission.

An officer on patrol spotted the car and turned on his emergency lights to try to get the driver to pull over, but the teen refused to stop and drove back home instead.

The boy has now been charged with taking a vehicle without consent and flight from police. He was held in custody for a bail hearing.
