Teens In Trouble With Police After Joyride

Taking a vehicle out for a joyride in Chatham-Kent ended abruptly for a pair of teens when flashing police lights filled their rearview mirror.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers were called on Wednesday about an aggressive driver who had been overtaking vehicles in a dangerous manner on Communication Road.

Officers located the vehicle and alleged that it was being driven by a 14-year-old youth, while the 16-year-old registered owner was in the back seat.

As a result, the 14-year-old was issued a Provincial Offence Notice for driving without a license. The 16-year-old owner was also issued a summons for permitting an unlicensed person under 16 to drive.
