The Municipality is moving quickly to develop fibre-based telecommunications facilities in Chatham-Kent. 
Council passed a motion to enter a Memorandum of Understanding with Teksavvy to invest $26 million dollars over 18 months, with the municipality kicking in $6.5 million.
The Municipality’s portion was previously set aside for the “Connect to Innovate” program.
