The COVID-19 vaccine is a go for Canadians.
Health Canada finally green lighted the vaccines from Pfizer and BioNTech today.
Dr. Supriya Sharma is the Health Canada Chief Medical Officer and says “ This is a critical milestone in our fight against COVID-19, and in our effort to provide every Canadian with access to a vaccine. Canadians can have confidence in our rigorous review process and the vaccine was authorized only after a thorough assessment of the evidence demonstrated that it met Health Canada’s strict standards for safety, efficacy, and quality”.
The vaccine has been approved for ages 16 and up as they are still running tests on children.
Prime Minister Trudeau announced earlier this week there were 249,000 doses on the way.
Its expected they will start arriving by the weekend.
