Another favorite event has fallen by the wayside because of the pandemic.
Parks Canada has announced the cancellation of the 2021 Festival of Birds at Point Pelee National Park.
Organizers are still encouraging Canadian’s to bird locally during the migration and the park is still committed to connecting with Canadian’s through virtual programming.
Throughout the month of May the park will continue to share general migration information and encourage everyone to take part from home.
Although the park remains open, visitors should not expect the same kind of experience they’ve had in the past as vehicle access, parking and visitor services are significantly reduced.
Parks Canada strongly advises all visitors to act in accordance with the provincial restrictions to help limit the spread of COVID-19 by traveling no farther than necessary to access outdoor spaces.
