Ontario Premier Doug Ford announced today the province is officially entering phase 2 of the vaccine roll out.
With the number of new cases surging daily, phase 2 will be more targeted, aiming directly at the postal codes in hot spots, Windsor-Essex is on that list.
Also people in the higher risk groups, organ recipients to neurological patients will be eligible for the vaccine regardless of their age.
Others moving ahead in phase 2 include people with specific health conditions, primary care givers, and people who are unable to work from home.
Ford said they have vaccinated 2.6 million Ontario residents so far, and expects that number to hit 9 million by June.
