Hundreds of volunteers spread out across Chatham last night, helping to ensure there is no child without a Christmas.

As part of the 65th annual Goodfellows’ Porchlight Campaign, area residents donated more than $43,900 in cash, slightly lower than last year’s drive.

As well, enough non-perishable food was given to fill over 100 boxes, and 70 boxes worth of new toys.

The deadline to apply for help through the No Child Without a Christmas campaign is next Monday.

Next up in terms of fundraising, volunteers will be collecting donations for the Street Sales portion of the campaign on December 13th and 14th.
