It was all hands on deck for Chatham-Kent Police after a gas theft in Thamesville.

Officers gave chase to a red-pickup truck shortly after 7 Sunday morning. Police say the suspect vehicle drove through several farmers’ fields, damaging crops, before the driver fled on foot and escaped in a stolen boat.

Members of the CK Police community patrol, marine unit, K9 unit, and drone division were all called in to help track the suspect.

The 36-year-old Kettle Point man was eventually arrested in a corn field.

Two passengers were also arrested.

As it turns out, police say the truck had been reported stolen from the London area.
