Three Chatham Businesses Return After Fire

The former building of the three businesses, damaged by fire in January 2017.

A trio of Chatham businesses affected by fire over a year ago are gearing up to move back into their original locations.

Flames ripped through a St Clair Street plaza on January 15th, 2017, destroying the building that housed Sacwal Flooring, Ideal Decorating Centre, and the Lighting and Accent Gallery.

The businesses moved to a temporary location down the street about a month later, but are now preparing to move back home, although the Lighting and Accent Gallery is being replaced by the Lighting Shoppe.

The owners expect to be open on April 2nd, just in time for Sacwal’s 40th anniversary.
