Three CK COVID Outbreaks Declared Over, Active Cases Dip

An uptick in new cases of COVID-19 in Chatham-Kent, but a dip in the overall active numbers.

Public Heath is reporting 12 new infections today but with 25 recoveries, that drops the total number of active cases to 119.

A handful of outbreaks have also been cleared off the books, including the congregate living setting and the outbreaks at Copper Terrace and Village on the Thames in Chatham. There are four active cases of COVID-19 at Riverview Gardens and one at Fairfield Park in Wallaceburg.

Provincially, 74 more people have died because of COVID-19. The Ministry of Health is also reporting 2961 new cases.

Windsor-Essex has 288 new cases, the third-highest increase in Ontario behind Toronto and Peel Region. The public health unit is also reporting 11 more deaths linked to the virus.

Lambton County is reporting 59 new infections today. With 46 recoveries, that brings the total number of active cases to 261. 13 people are being treated for the virus in hospital.
