One person has been seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 401 west of Chatham.

While not many details have been released at this time, the Ontario Provincial Police said the collision occurred Thursday morning in the eastbound lanes of the highway near Dillon Road.

The Ministry of Transportation first reported the collision at around 9:45 a.m.

According to Chatham-Kent EMS, one person has suffered critical injuries as a result of the crash. Two others have sustained minor injuries.

The eastbound lanes were closed for several hours between Queen’s Line and Bloomfield Road while police conducted an investigation. The highway was reopened at around 2:30 p.m.
