Three Local Spark Tourism Grant Winners

A trio of local initiatives is being honoured as part of the second round of Spark tourism grants.

The program is billed as a means to identify and foster tourism experiences and partnerships addressing address gaps or challenges, enhance current offerings, and motivate travel.

Bria Atkins from the Crappie Store was nominated for Riverside Cabins on the Sydenham; Kelsey Nydam with the Downtown Wallaceburg BIA won for the Wallaceburg Kayak Experience, and Paul Spence earned a nod with his On Farm Wood Fired Kitchen and Experiences.

“Thanks to this grant process I have learned so much about Wallaceburg’s 207 km of mapped and signed water trails and our unique history,” Spark winner Kelsey Nydam says. “I’m looking forward to further developing ideas that will bring tourism to our Downtown Wallaceburg Businesses!”

Each winner will receive a $3000 grant, mentorship and partner support to help take their tourism ideas to the next level.
