Just days after announcing they would reopen, Chatham-Kent officials say municipal offices in Dresden, Ridgetown, and Tilbury will be closing their doors once again.
The offices had been shut down January 12th due to a high number of staff under COVID protocols, and were finally able to reopen yesterday.
However, general manager of human resources, Cathay Hoffman, says the high transmissibility of the Omicron variant means staffing availability can change quickly.
“Our first responsibility is to maximize the safety of our employees and the community,” Hoffman said. “We are reassessing our capabilities on a daily basis and we have to be ready to react to the realities of the situation.”
The three affected offices will shut down again Monday for at least two weeks.
The Dresden Service Ontario office will be open by appointment only.
